A Little Background on Anne's love for Photography and Jewelry Making...

Anne grew up in Southern California and graduated with an art degree from the University of California, Riverside. There, she focused primarily on photography and did most of her study in black and white. Anne studied large format photography and Ansel Adams’ Zone System. (The Zone System is designed to ensure a wide range of values from black to white through calibration of everything from the exposure of the film to the final print.)

In 1980, Anne moved to San Luis Obispo County on California's Central Coast. “The visual beauty of the this area absolutely astounded me. The Central Coast is truly paradise.” A few years after arriving in San Luis Obispo, Anne took a detour that led her in an entirely different direction. While working at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, she began taking computer science classes. Anne eventually received a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, and worked in that field for 14 years.

During a leave of absence from her technical career, Anne’s passion for art resurfaced. Thanks to her very supportive husband, Sean, Anne is now able to focus on her photography and other artistic interests.

More recently, Anne was introduced to the unspoiled beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The abundance of photographic opportunities there resulted in her family adopting the area as their second home.

“Creating art has always been my passion. Today I combine my artistic interests with my technical knowledge to create wonderful results using my digital camera and Photoshop. My most enjoyable outings with my camera are those fleeting moments where light pours through the clouds and beautifully illuminates a landscape- what I call celestial lighting. The click of the shutter can capture that which may never be seen in the same way again.”

In the spring of 2007, Anne met a woman who wanted a necklace to match her bracelet.  Making that necklace ignited a new passion for beads.  The wonderful tactile quality and variety of beautiful beads soon became a second business.  Anne is currently selling her beaded jewelry in three California Central Coast locations:  the Gallery at Marina Square in Morro Bay, Earthtones Gifts & Gallery in Paso Robles, and Eagle Castle Winery in Paso Robles.

Anne currently lives in Templeton, California and Astoria, Oregon with her husband and soul mate, Sean; their beautiful daughter, Kelly; and their two dogs, a Tibetan Terrier named Brutus and a Bichon Frisé named Cotton.
